Executive Board 2016-17

Vice President Lissa Margharos
YMajor: Electrical Engineering
Year: Junior Hometown: Casper, WY Why SWE: When I first declared engineering as my major, the main thing I noticed was a lack of women in my classes. Usually there was maybe 2-3 women per 20-25 students. After realizing this, I really wanted to get involved in something to help inspire women towards engineering and encourage diversity within the field. I got a few emails about SWE and decided to show up. Within the first two or three meetings, I met many wonderful people and made new, strong friendships. SWE has shaped my life in many positive ways with the support, advice, and networking I have gained from this society. |

I've had wonderful experiences that I never would have had otherwise. In particular, the National conferences were really eye-opening. It's exciting to see how the STEM field is always evolving and changing. |
